Here are the highlights of Wednesday’s displays, featuring Valentino’s triumph, Viktor & Rolf’s daring deconstruction, and Nakazato’s theatrical “Blood Wedding”:

ARABESQUE MOTIFS OF SPRING Jennifer Lopez, seated in the front row, marveled at Elie Saab’s classic couture, featuring sandstone tulle, lilac, blush pink, and pastels with arabesque motifs. The collection showcased floor-sweeping chiffon and crepe gowns in timeless colors. The grand finale featured a breathtaking bridal gown, blurring the line between showstopper and spectacle.

VALENTINO: PICCIOLI TRIUMPHS WITH LUXURIOUS WHIMSY Valentino’s Spring Couture by Pierpaolo Piccioli marked a crowning moment, blending color blocking, whimsy, and minimalism. The event, attended by stars like Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Jenner, featured disco-oriented vibes with silver embellished paillettes, eye-popping colors, and ludic contrast. Piccioli found a delicate balance, infusing modernity into classic couture.

VIKTOR & ROLF’S DARING DECONSTRUCTION Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren defied convention, deconstructing couture garments for a theatrical presentation. A standout piece merged elements of the 1600s and 1900s, featuring an Elizabethan-like collar. The collection ventured into abstract deconstruction, challenging tradition and offering a new perspective on clothing.

NAKAZATO’S ‘BLOOD WEDDING’ Yuima Nakazato’s couture show, a theatrical “blood wedding,” left an eerie impression with a model walking through a lake of blood-colored liquid. Nakazato delved into darker realms, featuring armor-like neck clasps, sustainable innovation, and a blend of traditional Japanese techniques with avant-garde aesthetics. The show reflected Nakazato’s commitment to eco-conscious fashion and dramatic storytelling.
