This victory marked the first championship final of the 15-day Australian Open tournament that commenced on January 14. Hsieh and Zielinski initially led 4-0 in the match tiebreaker, facing a spirited comeback from Krawczyk and Skupski. The competition remained tight at 7-7, 8-8, and 9-9, but Hsieh and Zielinski secured the final two crucial points for the win.

This accomplishment adds to Hsieh’s impressive record, with a chance for a second title as she is set to compete in the women’s doubles final with Elise Mertens on Sunday. The mixed doubles victory marked her seventh major doubles title, including four women’s doubles titles at Wimbledon.

Reflecting on the challenging match, Hsieh expressed gratitude for the exciting competition during the trophy presentation, acknowledging the efforts of their opponents. Krawczyk, aiming for the career Grand Slam in mixed doubles, had previously clinched victories at Wimbledon in 2021 and 2022 and the French Open and U.S. Open in 2021 with different partners.
