Large hair bows are likely to return to the fashion scene in the near future. But this time, they will be “upgraded” to a new version like other “sibling” accessories.
Ugg boots “defined” with a cool fashion style or high heels are considered “essential designs” for every girl. From this, we can conclude that somewhat outdated trends will once again return but in a more modern style.
If you’ve been following the recent Met Gala, you may have seen the dazzling outfits of stars like Emily Ratajkowski and Sydney Sweeney. And they all have one thing in common: a simple black hair bow.
The difference between these bows and the “old version” from a decade ago is that they have been simplified. They are no longer the main character but merely “accessories” to embellish our appearance. The bows must be large enough for others to “notice” but not too flashy to lose the sense of suitability with the overall outfit.
Met Gala is not the only place to “spotlight” this trend this time. Their appearance has been known in recent fall/winter shows: such as Max Mara, Zimmermann, Dior,… And notably, the bow adorned on the hair of Sandy Liang.
If Balletcore is the “pioneer” in feminine trends, the return of this accessory is entirely predictable. Fashion enthusiasts are increasingly leaning towards gentle elegance. In addition, fall/winter shows also show a new trend with simplicity, and shows like Succession have attracted public attention to terms like “old money” and “quiet luxury.”
But that doesn’t mean this trend is limited to black bows only. We can diversify the options with different ribbon hair ties: some use silver bows tied at the back of the head, or use white bows to tie braids in between, or use pink bows to tie ponytails.
