Mukamal described a marathon day last summer where he and Robbie spent a whopping 10 hours trying on around 50 to 60 dresses in preparation for their global tour. With meticulous planning and a detailed map of every city they would visit, Mukamal ensured that each outfit was tailored to match the specific destination, referencing archival Barbies and cultural inspirations along the way.

The carefully curated ensembles from top fashion houses like Schiaparelli, Versace, and Balmain became iconic looks that garnered attention worldwide. Mukamal emphasized the importance of keeping track of each outfit while traveling, employing tracking devices and Apple Air Tags to ensure nothing was lost along the way.

Despite the logistical challenges, Mukamal praised Robbie’s dedication and enthusiasm for the project, highlighting her work ethic and commitment to bringing Barbie’s iconic style to life on the press tour. Barbie: The World Tour, which documents Robbie’s stylized outfits and includes exclusive looks that never made it to the press tour due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, releases on March 19 through Rizzoli.

For Mukamal, collaborating with Robbie on the book was a dream come true, with the actress’s passion for the project shining through every step of the way.
