A man, identified as David Crowe, has been charged with stalking and harassment after being arrested near Taylor Swift’s Manhattan townhouse. Court documents reveal that Crowe, 33, from Seattle, had been seen near the singer’s residence approximately 30 times in the past two months and had been repeatedly instructed to leave.
Crowe was apprehended on Monday evening and again on Wednesday afternoon, responding to complaints about his erratic behavior near Swift’s exclusive Tribeca neighborhood home. He was arraigned on stalking and harassment charges related to the Monday arrest, receiving supervised release. An order of protection was granted upon the prosecutor’s request.
Shortly after leaving court, Crowe was arrested again near Swift’s townhouse and charged with four counts of criminal contempt related to the protection order. His repeated appearances near the singer’s home raised concerns about his adherence to court orders.
A security worker, not identified in court documents, reported seeing Crowe near Swift’s home about 30 times since November 25. Despite being asked around 10 times to avoid approaching the building or leaving the area, Crowe continued to show up.
Assistant District Attorney Harriet Jiranek, while seeking supervised release, emphasized that Crowe’s persistent behavior indicated a risk of non-compliance with court orders.
Swift’s whereabouts during Crowe’s arrests are unclear, and her representative did not respond to inquiries. Crowe’s attorney from the public defender’s office has not commented on the case.
Incidents of break-ins at Swift’s Manhattan townhouse have occurred in the past, even when she wasn’t present, involving individuals identified as stalkers. The singer was reportedly in Buffalo, New York, during the recent NFL playoff game where her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, played for the Kansas City Chiefs.
